Form Two Bible Knowledge shifts focus toward the formation of Israel as a nation, spanning from their liberation out of Egypt to their settlement in the Promised Land. Mastering these historical records alongside key theological terms gives candidates a distinct edge in both school-based assessments and national Form Two examinations (FTNA).

Core Topics Breakdown (Exodus to Judges)

1. Liberation and Wilderness Transitions

  • The Exodus Event: God’s call of Moses, the ten plagues brought upon Egypt, the institution of the Passover meal, and the miraculous crossing of the Red Sea.
  • The Sinai Covenant: Receiving the Decalogue (Ten Commandments), establishing the Tabernacle worship, and setting moral standards for the Israelite community.
  • Wilderness Wandering: Events recorded in the Book of Numbers, detailing the census of Israel, frequent complaints against God, and the failure at Kadesh-Barnea leading to 40 years of wandering.

2. Inheritance and Early Tribal Leadership

  • Conquest of Canaan: Led by Joshua, covering the crossing of the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho, and the consequences of disobedience at Ai.
  • Settlement and Division: Distributing Canaan among the twelve tribes of Israel as promised to the Patriarchs.
  • Period of the Judges: Cyclic patterns in the Book of Judges—apostasy, oppression by enemies, repentance, and deliverance through charismatic leaders like Gideon, Deborah, and Samson.
