Summary: Kila mada inafundishwa kwa kutumia vitabu vya kiada vilivyopitishwa na wizara ya elimu, pamoja na nyenzo nyingine za ziada kama vile makala za magazeti, vipindi vya redio na televisheni, na mitandao ya kijamii. Lengo ni kuhakikisha wanafunzi wanapata maarifa na ujuzi wa kutosha ili waweze kutumia Kiswahili kwa ufasaha na kuelewa utamaduni wa Waswahili.

Kwa kidato cha pili, somo la Kiswahili linajumuisha mada mbalimbali ambazo zinajengwa juu ya maarifa na ujuzi uliopatikana katika kidato cha kwanza. Hizi ni baadhi ya mada kuu zinazofundishwa katika kidato cha pili:

1. Sarufi (Grammar)

  • Viambishi vya Vitenzi: Kujifunza viambishi vya nyakati, hali, na aina mbalimbali za vitenzi, kama vile:
    • Viambishi vya wakati uliopo (na-)
    • Viambishi vya wakati uliopita (li-, me-)
    • Viambishi vya wakati ujao (ta-)
    • Viambishi vya hali ya kuendelea (ki-)
  • Aina za Sentensi: Kufahamu aina za sentensi kama vile sentensi sahili, changamano, na ambatano.
  • Matumizi ya Viunganishi: Kujifunza jinsi ya kuunganisha sentensi kwa kutumia viunganishi kama vile “na”, “au”, “lakini”, “kwa sababu”.

2. Matumizi ya Lugha (Language Use)

  • Insha: Kujifunza kuandika insha mbalimbali kama vile insha za masimulizi, insha za maelezo, na insha za hoja.
  • Barua: Kujifunza kuandika barua rasmi na zisizo rasmi, kwa kuzingatia muundo na lugha sahihi.
  • Ripoti: Kujifunza kuandika ripoti fupi za matukio au shughuli mbalimbali.
  • Muhtasari: Kujifunza jinsi ya kuandika muhtasari wa maandishi au mazungumzo.

3. Fasihi (Literature)

  • Fasihi Simulizi: Kusoma na kuchambua hadithi za kale, ngano, methali, vitendawili, na nyimbo za asili.
  • Fasihi Andishi: Kusoma na kuchambua riwaya, tamthilia, na mashairi. Mada hii inaweza kujumuisha kazi za waandishi maarufu wa Kiswahili kama vile Shaaban Robert, Euphrase Kezilahabi, na wengine.

4. Ufahamu wa Kusoma (Reading Comprehension)

  • Ufahamu wa Kusoma: Kusoma vipande vya maandishi kama vile makala, hadithi fupi, na kuchambua yaliyomo kwa kujibu maswali yanayohusiana na maandiko hayo.
  • Ufahamu wa Kusikiliza: Kusikiliza hadithi au taarifa zilizorekodiwa na kujibu maswali ili kuthibitisha ufahamu.

5. Mawasiliano (Communication)

  • Mazungumzo: Kujifunza mbinu za kushiriki katika mazungumzo kwa njia rasmi na isiyo rasmi, ikiwa ni pamoja na mbinu za kuanza, kuendeleza, na kumaliza mazungumzo.
  • Hotuba: Kujifunza jinsi ya kuandaa na kutoa hotuba, kuzingatia mpangilio wa mawazo, usahihi wa lugha, na uwasilishaji bora.

6. Utamaduni (Culture)

  • Mila na Desturi: Kuchunguza mila na desturi za jamii zinazozungumza Kiswahili, ikiwa ni pamoja na tamaduni za mavazi, chakula, sherehe, na maadili.
  • Mithali na Misemo: Kujifunza na kuelewa maana ya mithali na misemo mbalimbali na matumizi yake katika mazungumzo ya kila siku.

7. Isimu Jamii (Sociolinguistics)

  • Matumizi ya Lugha katika Jamii: Kujadili jinsi lugha inavyotumika katika mazingira tofauti ya kijamii na kiutamaduni, ikiwa ni pamoja na lugha rasmi na lugha za mitaani.
  • Athari za Lugha: Kuchunguza jinsi lugha inavyoweza kuathiri na kuathiriwa na utamaduni, siasa, na teknolojia.

Kila mada inafundishwa kwa kutumia vitabu vya kiada vilivyopitishwa na wizara ya elimu, pamoja na nyenzo nyingine za ziada kama vile makala za magazeti, vipindi vya redio na televisheni, na mitandao ya kijamii. Lengo ni kuhakikisha wanafunzi wanapata maarifa na ujuzi wa kutosha ili waweze kutumia Kiswahili kwa ufasaha na kuelewa utamaduni wa Waswahili.
