Summary: Lengo kuu la somo la Kiswahili ni kuwasaidia wanafunzi kuwa na ujuzi wa kutosha wa lugha hii, waweze kuitumia kwa ufasaha katika mawasiliano yao ya kila siku na pia waweze kuelewa na kuthamini fasihi na utamaduni wa Kiswahili.

Somo la Kiswahili kwa kidato cha pili linaendelea kujenga misingi iliyowekwa katika kidato cha kwanza, likilenga kuboresha uwezo wa wanafunzi katika kusoma, kuandika, na kuzungumza Kiswahili kwa ufasaha. Hapa kuna muhtasari wa vipengele muhimu vinavyofundishwa:

1. Sarufi (Grammar)

  • Matumizi ya Viunganishi: Kujifunza jinsi ya kutumia viunganishi mbalimbali kama “na”, “lakini”, “au”, “kwa sababu” katika sentensi.
  • Aina za Vitenzi: Kujifunza vitenzi vya kawaida, vitenzi vya kutendea, vitenzi vya kupokea, na vitenzi vya kushurutisha.
  • Ngeli za Nomino: Kujifunza ngeli mbalimbali za nomino na jinsi zinavyotumika katika sentensi, kama vile Ngeli ya A-WA, I-ZI, U-I, na nyinginezo.

2. Matumizi ya Lugha (Language Use)

  • Insha: Kujifunza kuandika insha fupi na ndefu, ikiwa ni pamoja na insha za hoja, insha za maelezo, na insha za masimulizi.
  • Barua: Kujifunza kuandika barua rasmi na barua zisizo rasmi.
  • Uandishi wa Ripoti: Kujifunza kuandika ripoti mbalimbali, kama vile ripoti za shule, ripoti za mkutano, na ripoti za safari.

3. Fasihi (Literature)

  • Fasihi Simulizi: Kusoma na kuchambua hadithi za kale, ngano, methali, na vitendawili.
  • Fasihi Andishi: Kusoma na kuchambua riwaya, tamthilia, na mashairi yanayoandikwa na waandishi wa Kiswahili.

4. Ufahamu wa Kusoma na Kusikiliza (Reading and Listening Comprehension)

  • Ufahamu wa Kusoma: Kusoma maandishi mbalimbali na kujibu maswali yanayohusiana na maandiko hayo.
  • Ufahamu wa Kusikiliza: Kusikiliza hadithi, taarifa, au hotuba na kujibu maswali ili kuonyesha kuelewa kwao.

5. Mawasiliano (Communication)

  • Mazungumzo: Kuweza kushiriki katika mazungumzo kwa njia rasmi na isiyo rasmi.
  • Hotuba: Kujifunza kutoa hotuba mbele ya watu kwa kuzingatia mpangilio mzuri wa mawazo na matumizi bora ya lugha.

6. Utamaduni (Culture)

  • Mila na Desturi: Kujifunza kuhusu mila na desturi za jamii mbalimbali zinazozungumza Kiswahili.
  • Jinsi ya Kujitambulisha: Kujifunza jinsi ya kujitambulisha na kueleza asili na tamaduni zao kwa wengine.

Lengo kuu la somo la Kiswahili ni kuwasaidia wanafunzi kuwa na ujuzi wa kutosha wa lugha hii, waweze kuitumia kwa ufasaha katika mawasiliano yao ya kila siku na pia waweze kuelewa na kuthamini fasihi na utamaduni wa Kiswahili.
