Plants that are pollinated by wind have the following characteristics:Small petals with exposed anthers and stigma. In some plants the petals are often absent or have dull-coloured petals that do not attract insects or birds. The petals and sepals are very similar in shape and size.Large anthers which produce large amounts of pollen grains. A pollen tube emerges from the grain, its growth being controlled by the tube nucleus at the tip of the tube.
