Administrative and Consular Officer

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dar es Salaam has a vacant position for an Administrative and Consular Officer starting from early May 2025. The position will be part of the administrative team, and the job holder will report to the Head of Administrative and Consular Affairs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide all-round administrative and consular support.
• Handle consular inquiries, focusing on applications for first-time passports and passport renewals for
• Norwegians in the region (mainly Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi).
• Assist the accounting office and act as a back-up for the accountant during her absence.
• Provide ICT support as needed, including but not limited to printer connectivity and basic system connectivity.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

The successful candidate should have:

• 3-5 years of work experience in a similar function. Relevant experience, preferably in international organizations such as embassies.
• Experience working with extensive public contact and customer service.
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and other software interfaces.
• University education (minimum Bachelor’s degree), preferably in administration, finance/accounting,
• IT, or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant experience.
• Good writing and communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of additional languages in the region (Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi) is an added advantage.

Salary:

The salary will be in accordance with the Norwegian Foreign Ministry’s salary scale for local employees of Foreign Missions.
