Rift Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU LTD) is a prominent Secondary Cooperative Union located in Babati, Manyara region. Established in 1988 under the Cooperative Act of 1984, RIVACU operates under the Cooperative Societies Act No. 06 of 2013. RIVACU LTD is currently inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for several exciting vacancies in various departments. 1. Chief Accountant

Location: Babati, Manyara Region

Reports to: General Manager

Nature and Scope:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of RIVACU LTD. This includes safeguarding financial resources, maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax and financial regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the accounts department and monitor daily financial activities.
• Maintain accurate and compliant accounting records.
• Coordinate budgeting and financial reporting.
• Advise the management and Board of Directors on financial matters.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory returns.
• Ensure compliance with tax matters, such as VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Finance or a related field.
• CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent internationally recognized accountancy qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant senior-level experience in a reputable organization.

2. Internal Auditor

Location: Babati, Manyara Region

Reports to: Board of Directors (Administratively to the General Manager)

Nature and Scope:

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for auditing the financial operations and overall activities of RIVACU LTD. The role involves risk management, control evaluation, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Conduct audits to assess the financial reliability and operational efficiency of the Union.
• Examine records and recommend improvements in resource utilization.
• Monitor risk management processes and assist the Board with independent advice.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Auditing, Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
• CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualifications.
• At least 2 years of relevant senior-level experience.

3. Agricultural Field Extension Officer

Location: Babati, Manyara Region

Reports to: General Manager

Nature and Scope:

The Agricultural Field Extension Officer will provide extension services to RIVACU members to improve agricultural practices and increase productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate extension services in operational areas.
• Provide agricultural  education and advice to farmers.
• Assist in research dissemination and adoption of best farming practices.
• Engage with farmers to resolve challenges and promote technology adoption.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma in General Agriculture, Agricultural Field/Extension, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

4. Assistant Agricultural Field Extension Officer

Location: Babati, Manyara Region

Reports to: General Manager

Nature and Scope:

The Assistant Agricultural Field Extension Officer will manage agricultural input sales and provide extension services to improve agricultural productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise sales of farm inputs at the RIVACU Agricultural Inputs Outlet.
• Advise farmers on the proper use of agricultural inputs.
• Plan and execute promotional campaigns for new products.
• Maintain store cleanliness and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certificate in General Agriculture, Agricultural Field/Extension, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-year experience, with a background in agricultural inputs sales being an advantage.
• Eligibility Criteria for All Positions:
• Tanzanian nationals only.
• Relevant qualifications and experience as listed for each position.
• Candidates who studied abroad should provide proof of equivalency from Tanzanian accreditation authorities (TCU, NECTA, NACTE, etc.).
