Job Details: 

WATER PUMP ATTENDANT (Ref: JHCL/WPA/01/20) – 2 POSITIONS Duty Station: Mine Site- Mbinga, Ruvuma.  

Reports to: Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor.  

Job Summary: 

A Water pump attendant is responsible for operating pump and all installation of water  pipe/hose, daily check-up of pump and maintain work hour of machine for preventive  maintenance. 

Key Responsibilities:

6. Operation of water pumps and hose.
7. Daily check-up of the water pumps. 
8. Performing safety checks on pumps, water hose and all other related water equipment. 
9. Provide on job training to less experienced personnel. 
10. Assist repairing contractor water pumps if instructed by supervisor.
11. Adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures and guidelines.
12. Complete all tasks as instructed by supervisor. 
13. Perform field level risk assessment prior starting tasks. 
14. Ensuring the level of housekeeping is maintained to the maximum.
15. Assisting stores personnel doing tyre stock count.
16. Performing other maintenance duties as instructed by supervisor.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: 

Academic and Professional Qualifications 

• Form Four, VETA training and above from a recognized College. 

Experience 

• More than 1 year of working experience in Mining activities.  

Other relevant skills/experience 

• Experience and skills required. 
• Ability to work under minimum supervision. 
• Ability to work under pressure. 
• Proactive Oriented. 
• Experience of mobile mining equipment and operations. 
• Experienced in skills transfer and team development in a cross-cultural  environment. 
• Report any machine abnormality to supervisor and ensure preventive maintenance  is done on time. 
• Willing to train the right person if necessary.

• Commitment to the team.
