Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To support Underground Mining Department for improvement of production stream including equipment utilization in the areas such as Drilling, Blasting, Ground supporting, Haulage; Coaching and mentoring of Development and Production Supervisors, Senior UG Supervisors and oversee mining standards are adhered to; Quality maintenance of UG equipment to comply with OEM.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Licensed / Certified Underground Operator.
•    Training Certificate / Experience – preferred.
•    A formal qualification (Diploma/certificate) in Mining Engineering will be an advantage.
•    Supervisor or Mines Captain Certificate.

EXPERIENCE:
•    15+ years of previous supervisory experience in underground mine and knowledge of sublevel stoping underground Mining method.
•    Knowledge and understanding of reading drawings and ability to follow specifications.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•    Practical Training, Coaching, and mentoring of UG Supervisors.
•    Practical Coaching of Underground Operation Supervision ensuring crews working safely and achieve desired result.
•    Ensures Underground Supervision compliance with the Mines Act.
•    Provide guidance to Supervision to ensures workplace safety and environmental standards are established and met, and that standards and procedures are communicated to site personnel.
•    Provide guidance to Supervision to ensure daily mine plan for the shift is achieved and compliance to mine to plan.
•    Provide Coaching to Supervision to assists with sourcing and filling equipment needs.
•    Provide training to Supervision to be able to Prioritizes tasks and delegates workload to mine crews and monitor’s progress.
•    Provides Leadership Training to Supervision and encourages performance and ensure the crew is taking the ownership.
•    Ensure Supervision conduct routinely Communication and effectively with the Senior Supervisor and other supervisory personnel as required.
•    Ensure Supervision has Full compliance with underground safety management plan.
•    Assist with accident/incident investigation and training of new Supervisors.
•    Ensure all Supervisors attend safety related training courses and engage in any of the company’s safety initiatives.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    Demonstrated ability to facilitate skills transfer / on the job training / coaching.
•    Knowledge of various training / coaching evaluation methods and performance monitoring
•    He must also demonstrate strong work ethics, an ability to communicate courteously with co-workers.
•    First Aid knowledge.
•    Be physically and mentally fit and hard working.
•    Must have good written and oral communication skills in English Language.
•    Excellent hand/eye co-ordination.
•    Ability to maintain high standards of housekeeping within the mine.
•    Ability to recognize potential mining hazards and risks.
•    Ability to listen and take instructions and work in a team.
